Disability Royal Commission
Information
The Disability Royal Commission (the Commission) has been extended unitl September 2023.
The Commission is examining submissions from people with disability, their families and carers, which details experiences of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation. These experiences may have happened recently or a long time ago.
The Commission is investigating:

Prevention and better protection of people with disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation

Achieving best practice in reporting, investigating and responding to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability

Promoting a more inclusive society that supports people with disability to be independent and live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
If you would like to tell your story or have been affected by the Disability Royal Commission, there is free and independent support available to help you. These supports are funded by the Australian Government.
